Bill Gerber  (Cranberry, PA)

    Factory Attex Racer

Bill Gerber actually insisted that I drive his legendary Racing Machine. But after watching His younger Brother Jim jump in and grab the throttle, and then "re-appear" on the other side of the property line, Well, I was a little reluctant! But Bill twisted my arm... Let me just say that when I squeezed the throttle, this machine literally took my breath away. It was scary! It felt like I was on a roller coaster. It held strait like a train on a track. The modified transmission requires only a little bit of stick movement to turn. And the motor!? Well wouldn't you like to know? I will tell you this, It was raced in Stock Modified class, so it does have the original 399cc JLO Rockwell cylinder bore. Well the rest is history anyhow, so it really doesn't matter. The Father/Brother team worked very hard over a 15 year career of R&D to create this scary monster. I know what you are thinking, "How fast can a 6 wheeler be?" And my answer is... "Give me a week or 2, and I will post the video on the home page of me ripping across this lawn pictured below."

Jim Gerber told me that after His Big Brother retired from racing that he drag raced the machine in the dirt drag circuit. He continued on and said that only the rear wheels had chains driving them, and that the front 2 axles had no drive power. When I asked him why, He just said, "The front 4 tires were never on the ground, and it saved weight..."

This is a factory "dash 11" Hemi head engine. Although it was never produced in an Attex, it is a factory Rockwell Motor, and Attex did sell their machines with a 399cc JLO Rockwell. Hey! My 400 JLO only has 8 head bolts!?
