Attex Company history

1968

David McCahill of Pittsburgh designed what would become known as "The fastest aatv ever produced" The bright yellow racing machine which was named after a deer in Africa, was originally put into production in Glenshaw, PA. and was named "ATV Manufacturing"

1973

"ATV Manufacturing"  relocated to Lawrenceville, PA.

1974

ATV Manufacturing was sold to Ray McKay,  Jack Gould, and Howard Gerber (Owner and designer of the "RIM" aatv) and was named They manufactured the machines at the Lawrenceville facility until 1976.

1976  Attex Inc. East Palestine, Ohio

    Raymond McKay & Howard Gerber brought about some big changes to Attex. Introducing the new Polyethelene bodied machines. The 250 Spirit (G25B 249cc Chaparral) and the 500 Superchief (G50B 484cc Chaparral)This The Big Foot was also introduced.

1978  Attex Inc. East Palestine, Ohio

   Attex Inc. Introduces the Lil Truck, and the Tomahawk. Equipped with a Tecumseh oh160 16h.p., or a Chaparral 484cc.

1981

Attex Inc. was sold to "anonymous" in Ravenna, Ohio and was named "Attex International Inc"  And was in operation until 1983

1982  Attex International, Inc. Ravenna, Ohio

   Attex International, Inc. introduced the GT-1 (SINGLE SPEED) and the GT-2 (2 SPEED) Transmissions in the 450 Lil Truck, 450 Sportster (Tomahawk) The 500 Lil Truck, and the 500 Sportster (500 Superchief) It just couldn't hold up to the T-20The change was brought about due to the fact that MAX (Owner of Skidsteer Corp.) began withholding sales to all competitors in ATV Manufacturing industry, thus causing many businesses to close.

1983

Attex International Inc was sold to Phillips Mfg. of Akron, Ohio. Several machines were produced at this facility along side a new invention that we all know as the WinSu. After a sudden death, the company assets were sold at auction.

1985

An investment firm known as Barrette in Akron, Ohio purchased and sold all company assets and records.

1985

Randolph Tool & Die purchased all company assets. Although just a few machines were manufactured, many parts were sold from this location.

1991

"Anonymous" in Tennessee purchased all assets and records. Only 15 models were actually assembled by this individual in a small trolley Mfg. plant, and sold to his friends and employees of another company that he owned, for only for $2995 each.

1993

Company assets were purchased by "anonymous" in Iowa. No machines  were assembled by this individual

1995

Anonymous in New York purchased all assets and company records No machines were produced.
